KINCON2007 - Digital Media
         C3  - Content, Community, Connectivity

In the last decade, thanks to massive public and private investments in the outlay of IT infrastructure, Korea has seen a meteoric rise in the profile of its homegrown digital technologies.  With a solid foundation built upon the Country’s state-of-the-art wireline and wireless communication networks, Korea, in many cases, has led innovation in digital media (DM) technologies, applications and services.  Companies such as Samsung, LG, SK Telecom and Communications, NHN, and NCSoft have all been at the forefront of shaping disruptive digital media-related technology trends, such as mobile TV, social networking, user-created content, and online gaming.  The impact of Korean technologies on the “New Internet” cannot be ignored – before Skype, MySpace, YouTube, and SecondLife all took center stage in the global marketplace, Korean companies such as Dialpad, Cyworld, Pandora.tv, and NCSoft (Lineage) all helped transform the web in their own ways.

With C3, the Korea IT Network (KIN) sets out to explore and understand Korea’s impact on the digital marketplace.  What can be learned from Korean DM technologies and business models?  How can Silicon Valley companies take advantage of the “Korean Wave” that has been sweeping the globe?  KIN has assembled a group of leading companies, industry experts, VCs, and entrepreneurs to provide insight around these issues and to offer an open forum for thought provoking discussion and networking opportunities.

This year’s conference, the largest annual Korea IT industry gathering in the US, will focus on Digital Media and feature speakers from innovative  companies from the US and Koreathat are leading the way in digital media technologies, applications, and services.

Join us at 9:00 AM on Thursday, June 7, at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto, for a full day of presentations, discussions, exhibits, and networking opportunities celebrating the “Korean Wave” in digital media and entertainment, e-Learning, digital infrastructure and devices, online gaming and Web 2.0.
